FOOTBALL
As early as age 3, I would take Eric to football games, and he loved it.
We would mostly go to Jets games, but once we went to a Rutgers game, and
another time we saw the Eagles in Philadelphia.
He used to get very tired, however, especially since we were usually there
most of the day, first tailgating, and then going to the game.
By the time the game entered the third quarter, Eric was ready for his
nap.
So off to sleep he went - despite the noise, despite the shouting, despite
the chair banging, despite the roar of the crowd, and even despite the
cold - he would lean over in his chair, lean on my arm, and go to sleep,
perfectly happy and at peace with the world. That memory of him is
permanently etched in my brain.
